Private equity group, QuStream, has acquired Mellville, NY-based PESA Switching Systems.
QuStream--whose founder and CEO is former Leitch President Fred Godard--has been looking for a company and product line to "serve as the cornerstone of a larger industry group that will address the needs to today's broadcasters and video professionals," said Godard.
PESA has tapped Steve Miller to be its COO. Miller comes to PESA from Thomson where he served as director of engineering for modular products for four years. Miller is also a Leitch veteran, where he wore several managerial hats, serving as vice president/COO of the server division, vice president of sales and VP of engineering.
Bob McAlpine will remain the senior vice president of sales and marketing and will also take on the role of vice president of business development for QuStream.
Development and manufacturing activities will remain in Huntsville, Ala. and sales and marketing will stay in Melville, N.Y., managed by McAlpine.
