DISH Network Offers '$1M Great HDTV Giveaway'

After reaching its 10 million-customer milestone in less than 99 months, DISH network is thanking its customers by giving away 1,000 high-definition television sets.

"We couldn't have reached 10 million without our customers and retailers, so we're thanking them by giving away 1,000 of our state-of-the-art HDTV systems," said Charles Ergen, chairman and CEO of EchoStar.

The $1 million package-given to customers in random drawings this summer-includes a monitor, HD satellite receiver, dish antenna and one-year subscription to DISH Network's HD programming package.

DISH Network offers over 500 channels, including more than 60 international channels in more than 25 languages, sports packages, HD programming and local channels to 131 cities.

Recently the DISH Network introduced a digital video recorder (DVR) that records satellite-delivered HDTV channels, and is now offering a DVR-set-top box that allows customers to record two shows at the same time.
