Boeing Connexion Announces Service Enhancements/Price Structure Changes

Connexion by Boeing announced changes to in-flight services offered and to the pricing for Internet connectivity. In addition to the Internet and e-mail, four channels of live global television will be offered to passengers. Video service is scheduled to begin on Jan. 23 and will feature programming from MSNBC, CNBC, Eurosportnews and BBC World. The new pricing structure begins at $9.99 for one hour to $26.95 for 24 hours.

David Friedman, Connexion by Boeing vice president of marketing and direct sales, said, "As our service has expanded to more airlines and destinations worldwide, passengers have enjoyed the benefits of airborne Internet access. Yet, through our customer research, passengers also have told us they wanted simplified pricing based on the time they are connected and more options for how to pay for it."

Friedman noted that the company responded to customer input by making changes to pricing structure for the in-flight Internet service.
