McKillen Batt-O-Meter checks battery life in use

Keith McKillen Instruments is now offering the Batt-O-Meter, a device designed to tell the user the remaining life of a 9V or AA battery with the cells still in place. Designed for musicians but applicable to many typical applications, the Batt-O-Meter is designed to plug into a quarter-inch jack, providing a clear readout of remaining battery life. The device is itself powered by a 9V battery, making it ideal for field production use.

The Batt-O-Meter provides peace of mind to anyone worried about his device going dead in a critical situation, allowing many pieces of gear to be checked without the laborious task of opening the case and using a multimeter or voltmeter. To ensure accurate results, the Batt-O-Meter can be switched to select the type of battery in use: alkaline, carbon-zinc or rechargeable. A side switch toggles the display between actual voltage and hours of remaining battery life.
