Magic Hair masters Discovery

Hollywood-based Magic Hair mastering is providing mixes for Discovery Networks’ current programming, using the new Dolby LM100 audio tool to meet the network’s quality control specifications.

Discovery’s audio post production supervisor Mark Edmondson installed Dolby’s LM100 units in all the network’s online, offline, mix, dubbing, QC and machine room facilities last summer, a move aimed at resolving uneven broadcast levels between programs, and dynamic compression issues among affiliates. Magic Hair provides a steady stream of mix services for Discovery, as well as FOX, TLC, A&E Biography, MTV, the History Channel and numerous other networks, and audio supervisor Mike Forslund specified the LM100 units for the studio in order to maintain quality compatibility with the networks.
