XM Tops Half-Million Subscribers

XM Satellite Radio has surpassed 500,000 subscribers. Although it traditionally releases its subscriber numbers each quarter, the company was moved to issue this announcement.
"The march to 1 million subscribers this year begins today," said XM President/CEO Hugh Panero. "In record industry parlance, with half-a-million subscribers we have achieved 'gold' status," said Panero. "Now we are on our way to 'platinum.'"
