WSFJ-TV Increases Coverage with New Tower and Antenna
WSFJ-TV, a Columbus, Ohio, independent station owned by Guardian Vision International, is now operating from a new 310-foot tower on a ridge between Columbus and Newark. The new transmitting facility has increased the station’s coverage area by approximately 36 percent.
Dielectric Communications provided the new antenna and erected to supporting tower.
"The purchase, design and installation went very smoothly, which I attribute in large part to Dielectric’s responsiveness and ability to be a one-stop shop for all of our needs," said Rob Kasper, WSFJ-TV vice president of engineering.
The installation featured a "T-bar" at the top of the tower, with the station’s new analog slot and panel antenna mounted on one side and the other side left open for future installation of a digital transmitting antenna. The analog antenna was custom designed to place 25 percent of the signal in the vertical plane.
