WCAV-TV Upgrades With Sundance Digital's Titan

WCAV-TV in Charlottesville, Va. has upgraded the technical facilities it shares with Fox's WAHU and ABC's WVAW with Sundance Digital's
Titan automation system.
WCAV's package includes the Titan automation suite, which will drive the multichannel operation; Sundance Digital's NewsLink, an automation product for competitive live newscasts; and its Intelli-Sat Broadcast Record Manager. It also includes the customized code to provide character generator interfaces for CGS Infographics automation and Inca Studio software.
"Titan is meeting our goals for reliability and redundancy. It's working excellently," said Tim Free, WCAV's chief engineer. "The system has helped us increase our staff's productivity and the service and support from Sundance has been great."
The Titan suite controls six channels of a Leitch Nexio server system, three primary and three backup, as well as Inscriber Inca Stations, tape transports and satellite receivers.
