TV Azteca, a major Mexican television network that produces more than 10,000 hours of Spanish language of programming annually, has added camera support equipment from Shotoku Broadcast Systems to enhance its Mexico City operations.

The network selected Shotoku’s TP-VR pedestals for studio applications and a companion tripod for field use. Both models are equipped with Shotoku’s TU-03AVR pan and tilt heads.

“Compatibility with our virtual studio technology was the main factor,” said Román Gómez, TV Azteca’s director of engineering. “And because we are very active in studio production, Shotoku's reputation for reliability, cost-effective maintenance and user-friendly configuration made the decision easy.”

TV Azteca operates two national networks and reaches viewers through 321 affiliated stations in Mexico. The company also owns the Azteca America Network, with programming targeted at the U.S. Hispanic population.
