The Vision Channel Purchases Motorola Video Compression Encoders
The Vision Channel recently installed Motorola DigiCipher II video compression encoders equipped with PurePixel processing at its Fort Mill, S.C. uplink facility for use in delivering digital programming as the facility completes an analog-to-digital conversion.

The DigiCipher II platform compresses and multiplexes standard-definition and high-definition TV signals in a single, integrated transmission system, and is compatible with MPEG-2 standards for transport and video syntax. It uses the Dolby AC-3 audio compression system, and includes system control, encoders, access control, modulation, and a range of receivers. The PurePixel processing option adds dual-pass compression analysis, temporal and spatial filtering and new scene-detection techniques.
