Teranex and QUALCOMM Create Real-Time Encoding System for Digital Cinema
Teranex Inc. and QUALCOMM Inc. have created a digital cinema compression system based on QUALCOMM's ABSolute cinema-quality compression algorithm built into Teranex's digital media platform. The combined system provides real-time, end-to-end encoding/mastering for digital cinema.

The platform and algorithm form a real-time "Compression Engine." The Teranex platform, already in use at many post production houses, uses a patented "pixel processing" method to perform sophisticated motion imaging algorithms in realtime. When configured as a "Compression Engine," with ABSolute, the platform mates with a QUALCOMM-developed Encoder Management System to enable the compression of digital motion pictures.
