Syntax-Brillian Ships 65-Inch 1080p LCoS
Syntax-Brillian Corp. late this month began shipping its 6580iFB 1080p platform--the 6 MB, 65-inch HD and media center video platform.

The company, based in Tempe, Ariz., said in a statement that the huge 6-million pixel rear-projection unit provides a contrast ratio up to 4000:1 and supports 1080p input sources. The Syntax-Brillian 1080p HD light engine uses next-gen LCoS micro-displays that meet the requirements of 1,920 x 1,080, according to the firm.

The unit also has 12-bit grayscale rendering and a response time of 4ms. The video platform supports 14 analog-digital inputs, including ATSC-terrestrial broadcast tuner and digital audio S/PDIF (Sony/Philips Digital Inter Face), and a 170-degree viewing angle.
