Sunday Is AMBER Awareness Day, Marking 12th Anniversary of Child’s Abduction
Sunday is AMBER Alert Awareness Day.

It was 12 years ago that Amber Hagerman was abducted and killed in Texas.

Among those noting the anniversary, the Connecticut Broadcasters Association said its state has had six activations since 2003 and all 10 children associated with those were “safely and quickly recovered.”

CBA President Mike Rice said in a statement, “Due to the immediate, consistent and meaningful manner in which it operates, the AMBER Alert program continues to be a most effective tool in recovering an abducted child.”
