Southern Idaho Corp. Loses Translator Skirmish
The FCC has denied a request by Southern Idaho Corp. of Seventh-day Adventists to review a prior decision about building a noncom FM translator station. The SIC had sought to build an FM translator in Nampa, Idaho. But the FCC had already granted a similar petition from Calvary Chapel of Twin Falls Inc. for the same town.
When SIC fought CCTF's petition, it argued that CCTF has not demonstrated its financial ability to build and operate the proposed facility because it had several CP applications pending. The commission found the allegations "speculative" and decided the protests from SIC were unwarranted.
