Soundcraft Studer Opens Console Technology Centre

Soundcraft Studer, the Harman mixer group, is increasing its production capabilities and placing additional focus on new products.

To help rationalize its research and development efforts, the company is consolidating R&D and associated new product introduction efforts at a new "Console Technology Centre" near the Studer facility in Regensdorf, Switzerland.

The new center will focus on digital console development, advanced user interfaces, routers, networking and communication technologies and ongoing development of existing products.

The move also allows Studer to consolidate production facilities in Potters Bar, England. As of January 2010, all Vista and OnAir 3000 consoles will be produced in the United Kingdom.

Soundcraft Studer is looking to hire 18 additional people at the Potters Bar facility.

In addition, the Potters Bar facility will expand its customer center with a new broadcast studio, an acceptance test studio and a training suite.
