Sound Devices Compact Field Mixer to Debut at NAB03

Sound Devices intends to introduce the 302 Compact Production Field Mixer at NAB03 in Las Vegas. Key features include 40-segment output level meters that can be read outdoors; channel-selectable microphone powering; three mic inputs with Lundahl input transformers; and input limiters and software-selectable output limiters.
The 302 is powered by three internal AA batteries or an external DC source. Without phantom power engaged the batteries are claimed to last through a full day's shoot. The 302 is link-compatible with the Sound Devices 442. Price: $1,350; available in April. For more information visit www.soundevices.com.
