Sinclair Stations Using Triveni PSIP Technology
The Sinclair Broadcast Group has deployed Triveni Digital’s GuideBuilder PSIP generator within its television stations. The company is also beginning to install Triveni’s StreamScope product to ensure DTV stream quality.

“In moving to digital, we knew it was important to build and operate stations that we could depend on in the same way that we depended on our analog stations,” said Harvey Arnold, Sinclair’s corporate director of engineering. “The integration of Triveni Digital systems into our digital operations allows us to comply with the technical specifications of FCC regulations and gives us the advanced PSIP generation and testing and monitoring capabilities we need to make sure our signals are being appropriately distributed.”

The GuideBuilder product is installed in a redundant configuration within the Sinclair properties and is used to provide a check of operational capabilities of the FCC-mandated PSIP data, a component of the ATSC DTV transport stream.

Sinclair is using the StreamScope for measuring, recording, and analyzing station DTV streams to ensure against any degradation that might cause degradation of video reaching viewers.
