Sennheiser, Neumann Mics Added to NPR's 5.1 New Year's Eve Broadcast

Microphones from Sennheiser and Neumann are to be included in NPR's New Year's Eve surround sound broadcast. As reported previously by Radio World, NPR is holding training sessions for its engineers and producers involved in the event. KUVO is one of the stations broadcasting a 5.2 concert that night and feeding it to the network. CE Mike Pappas says his station will use Sennheiser MKH800s for the left-center-right arrays while the rear channels will go through a Neumann KU100 stereo dummy head.
Other participating stations may use other Sennheiser and Neumann mics for the event.
