SCBA Convention Scheduled for January

The South Carolina Broadcasters Association 2012 conference is scheduled for Jan. 19–20 in Columbia, S.C.

Attendance reservations are due by Jan. 13 while hotel reservations are being accepted until Jan. 4.

There will be an exhibition floor, a Legislative Breakfast and several engineering sessions including “Remote Broadcasting: The Convergence of Radio, TV and IP.” A regulatory update is included by communications law specialists Fletcher, Heald and Hildreth, and Kelly Cole from the NAB will apprise members on the latest from the NAB. Sales is not forgotten with “Contagious Selling” by David Rich.

Other items include board of directors elections and awards. George H. Buck, Jr., owner of GHB Broadcasting will be inaugurated into the SCBA Hall of Fame; Rich O’Dell, president and GM of WLTX(TV) will receive an Honorary Life Membership and Brent Johnson, show host and operations manager of WCTB(FM) will receive a Masters Award.
