SBE Elects New Officers and Board Members
In an election slightly less controversial than that in Iran and less violent than the recent one in Afghanistan, the Society of Broadcast Engineers has
elected new officers and new board members.
Elected to assume the presidency is Vincent Lopez, director of engineering for WSYT(TV), WNYS(TV), Sinclair Broadcasting, Syracuse, N.Y. The new vice president is Ralph Hogan, director of engineering, KJZZ(FM)/KBAQ(FM), Tempe, Ariz. The secretary is Ted Hand, chief engineer WSOC(TV)/WAXN(TV), Charlotte, N.C. and Andrea Cummis, consultant and project manager for Media Project Partners is the new treasurer.
Newly elected board members are Mark Heller, president, GM, chief engineer for WTRW(AM)/WGBW(AM), Two Rivers, Wis.; James E. Leifer, director of engineering and IT, Clear Channel, West Palm Beach, Fla.; Jerry Massey, corporate regional engineer, Entercom Communications, Greenville, S.C.; David Priester, director of technical operations, Roy H. Park School of Communications, Ithaca College, Ithaca, N.Y.; Christopher H. Scherer, editor,
Radio magazine and Joe Snelson, director of engineering, Meredith Broadcasting Group, Henderson, Nev.
