SBE 2010 National Set for Madison
Madison, Wis.-based SBE Chapter 24 will be very busy at the end of October of next year, and it won't be prepping the Haunted Broadcast Studio for Trick or Treaters (as far as we know, at least) but rather hosting the annual national meeting for the Society of Broadcast Engineers, hosting the Upper Midwest Regional Meeting and hosting the Wisconsin Broadcasters Clinic, all at the same time, Oct. 26–28 at the Madison Marriott West.
Commenting on that, SBE President Vinny Lopez said: "By holding the SBE National Meeting in conjunction with established, successful regional events, the SBE and the local host benefit. These partnerships allow the SBE to bring a national presence to these regional events."
This is not the first time that SBE 24 has hosted the national. The 2008 annual was the most recent visit to Madison.
In other SBE news, a new chapter has been formed, this one in the Twin Falls, Idaho area.
Chapter 145, Magic Valley is the new kid on the SBE block. Chapter chairman is Thomas Lowther. SBE members in the area had been meeting regularly since 1997.
