RealNetworks Lays Off 100
RealNetworks Inc. recently laid off some 100 employees, about 35 in Seattle and the rest in Asia and Europe. That’s according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.
It quoted spokesman Bill Hankes saying the cuts were made to reduce “redundancies” after six acquisitions in the past two years. RealNetworks had about 1,800 workers before the cuts, the paper quoted Hankes saying, and no further layoffs were planned.
