PostWorks, New York has released an update to its film and HD post products.

The HD closed captioning products now include EN530 HDTV Smart Encoder IV and CCPlay software from EEG Enterprise, that is FCC-compliant and adheres to CEA captioning standards, according to the Soho-based post facility.

The EN530 is a universal closed-caption encoding product that that supports both SD and HD video encoding, decoding and bridging. Also, the encoder performs up/cross and downconversion functions and encodes a single program in HD and SD at the same time. Additionally, the new capabilities provide for V-chip encoding using extended data services, aka XDS packets.
