Panasonic Heralds Integrated HD 3D Camcorder
Panasonic recently announced what they claim to be the first fully-integrated HD 3D camcorder, available Fall 2010.
The company will begin taking orders in April.
Where current 3D operations require two cameras involving rigs or mirrors, the Panasonic model includes lenses, camera head and dual memory recorders built into one body, increasing ease of use in all variety of filming environments. Additional features include solid-state reliability and increased affordability.
The camcorder will be introduced at a retail price of $21,000.
Engineering samples of the solid-state camcorder will be on exhibit in Panasonic’s booth at the 2010 International CES in Las Vegas through Sunday. Panasonic also
previously announced that it will demo 3D at the Winter Olympics next month in Vancouver
