Panasonic HD Studio Camera Hits the Market
The Panasonic AK-HC3500 high-definition studio camera is now available, according to the Secaucus, N.J., vendor.

 
The 10.4-pound camera, featuring a 2/3-inch, 2.2 megapixel 3-CCD, is equipped to handle 1080/59.94i and 1080/50i image acquisition. The camera has a 14-bit A/D converter; 38-bit digital signal processor LSI, spatial off-set processing and 1,100 lines of horizontal resolution. Panasonic said it maintains a 60 dB signal-to-noise ration at F10.0, and has a vertical smear level of less than 130 dB. It also features a SD memory card slot.

The HC3500 suggested list price is $56,000. A build-up kit is an additional $21,000; a remote operating panel for $5,050; camera control unit, $27,000; color viewfinder, $14,500; HD-SDI output card, $4,400; and a master set-up unit for $19,700.
