Orban Releases 10th Anniversary 8200s; Updates Software
Orban/CRL Systems Inc. replaced its 8200 series of digital audio processors with the 8200 Signature Series to mark the product’s 10th anniversary. The company also released version 3.1 of the software for the Audicy Digital Audio Editor Workstation.
The Signature Series has the same features of the 8200’s version 3 software and adds eight new custom-tuned presets. The units also offer standard sample-rate converting AES/EBU digital input and output that handles 32-kHz, 44.1-kHz and 48-kHz rates. A redesigned front panel with Bob Orban’s signature commemorates the digital audio processor’s first decade.
The version 3.1 software makes the Cart Chunk Standard compatible with AES standards and accepts URLs for file transfer, allowing file transfer over LAN and WAN. The Audicy Windows File Edit Management Program, which allows editing of Audicy’s Cart Chunk audio file headers, is also included.
