NPR's West Coast Production Center Build Moves Forward
NPR hopes to have its West Coast Production Center open in September. The 25,000 sq-ft. production center will be the network's largest facility outside its Washington, DC headquarters. The audio infrastructure will be based on a Klotz Vadis II audio network and more than 50 Dalet workstations are to be installed.
Initially, the facility will house 50 staffers, including employees of NPR's Los Angeles news bureau. Also, the "The Tavis Smiley Show," currently heard on Sirius Satellite Radio, will be produced out of the facility.
