New Tapco Studio Monitors on Display at NAB
On the trail to the NAB show: Mackie said it will use the spring convention to show off its new Tapco brand of affordable studio monitors.
The 8-inch Tapco S*8 and 5.25-inch Tapco S*5 are two-way, bi-amplified monitors with dual internal amplifiers that deliver a total of 120 watts RMS (60 watts for the woofer and 60 for the tweeter).
Each has a 1-inch waveguide-loaded silk-dome tweeter.
Rear-panel controls provide low-frequency boost and high-frequency cut/boost. Inputs include 1/4-inch TRS/XLR balanced and RCA unbalanced. Rear-panel controls and connections are recessed into an amplifier panel. The front panel has power and clipping LEDs.
The S*5 is available from dealers for a suggested retail price of $499 per pair. The S*8 is $749/pair.
