New England Sports Network Extends HD Contract
New England Sports Network (NESN) has signed a multimillion-dollar contract extension with SES Americom and SES Global to provide more HD programming.
NESN will use the new SES Americom AMC-11 satellite--from HD-Prime Satellites--to deliver Boston Red Sox and Bruins games. The network also delivers minor league and college sports games. Fans in six New England states will continue to receive SD and HD programming.
The network has delivered more than 120 games in HD since 2003 and will start covering road games in 2005.
"SES Americom and now its HD-Prime neighborhood deliver quality and reliability NESN must have to provide our award winning Red Sox and Burins coverage to New England sports fans," said Sean McGrail, president of NESN.
