Neural-THX Surround, KVOD to Broadcast Beethoven Festival Live in 5.1
KVOD(FM), Denver, Colo, will present a live broadcast of the kickoff of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra’s Beethoven Festival in 5.1 surround sound using Neural-THX Surround technology.

The concert will air from Boettcher Concert Hall at the Denver Performing Arts Complex June 1 and 2.

Charley Samson, host/producer of KVOD’s “Colorado Spotlight,” will host the live broadcasts, presenting pre-concert and intermission commentary and interviews with Kahane and CSO musicians.

This was the right approach. We should have only one digital radio standard for North America, and HD Radio has been so widely deployed in the U.S. that it was a question of "when?" not "if?" for Mexico to adopt HD. Canada will be next. Now that semiconductor manufacturers are making chipsets that can decode multiple digital radio standards it will be possible for receiver manufacturers to build receivers that work with all the world's digital radio standards and frequencies. It's just a shame that the rest of the world did not also adopt HD Radio, since it offers distinct advantages over the other standards.
