Remote video production company, New Century Productions (NCP), uses Canare hybrid fiber optic (HFO) camera cable checkers--FCT-FCKIT--to test SMPTE cables in the field and at its shop.

"Previously, when we encountered errors, we would wonder if we had an equipment or cable problem," said David W. Chase, field shop/maintenance supervisor for NCP. "Now we can easily test the cable and quickly get on with the business of television." The Allentown, Pa.-based company tests its returning cables before warehousing them to identify fiber cables that need cleaning or repair, so NCP can be sure that the cables are ready to go when needed.
