NBC, ABC Stations Upgrade News Systems with Grass Valley
NBC affiliate WNYT-TV in Albany, N.Y and KAAL-TV, an ABC affiliate in Austin, Minn., are upgrading their stations with the
Grass Valley Digital News Production (DNP) that support both analog and digital channels.
WNYT purchased seven NewsEdit NLE systems including six software-only SC versions and one XT workstation. A software-only system will be used at one of its satellite news bureaus in the area. In addition, the station bought three M-Series iVDR (intelligent video digital recorder) units, one for ingest and two for automated playout and installed Grass Valley Ingest Station and redundant NewsQ Pro automated playback systems.
KAAL purchased three NewsEdit SC systems, a Grass Valley NewsQ Pro and NAS system and two M-Series iVDRs.
