NAB Show: For-A Video Switcher Supports 3 Gbps 1080p
For-A HVS-5400

Several new For-A products will make their U.S. debut at the NAB Show (April 20–23), including two new switchers. One will be the HVS-5400—the 4 M/E model of For-A's flagship digital video switcher that provides native support of 3 Gbps 1080p signals.

A second unit, the firm's HVS-300HS HD/SD Portable Video Switcher, is compact-designed and comes with 1 M/E and an internal multiviewer.

For-A has expanded its product line "to meet the demand for products that satisfy an appetite for HD content while accommodating legacy SD equipment," it said in a pre-NAB statement.

Also new at the show this year from For-A—its latest multiformat frame rate converter (FRC-8000) that is equipped with a newly configured image-processing board for HD-SD format conversion. For-A said the new converter offers up, down and cross-conversion among an array of format signals and includes motion compensation processing.

The company is located this year at Booth SU3507.
