NAB Cites Hotel Rate Discounts

Room rates at some official convention hotels are nearly 40% below what they were two years ago for the NAB Show week, according to the National Association of Broadcasters, citing information from its housing management contractor Expovision.

NAB is promoting attendance at the big spring convention, to be held April 10–15. It said "shoulder" night rates also are being discounted "deeply".

The association says hotels are a particularly good value in 2010 due to the "sluggish economy, reduced tourism and higher inventory."

"Lowest rates are guaranteed when reservation are made via the NAB Show Web site for NAB Show dates at participating hotels. If a hotel lowers its rates or lower rates are found, reservations will automatically be adjusted and new confirmations generated."
