The Dec. 3 NFL game between the New England Patriots and the Baltimore Ravens scored cable’s biggest audience ever, according to ESPN.

The cable network estimates the game, which was won by the Patriots, 27-24, was watched by an average of 17,522,000 viewers, beating out the previous record, set by “High School Musical 2”, which averaged 17,241,000 viewers when the Disney Channel aired the popular pre-teen sequel last summer. The previous record for ESPN’s Monday Night Football, now in its second season, was 11,807,000 viewers for the New York Giants-Dallas Cowboys game on Oct. 23.
