Microsoft, Digital Dimension Create Super Bowl Effects
Microsoft and graphics creator Digital Dimension are teaming up to create visual effects for the Super Bowl's opening sequence.
An estimated 140 million viewers will see the minute of visuals created by Digital Dimension using the Microsoft server system. The Burbank, Calif.-based company used Microsoft SharePoint services, its server system and also the .NET framework to "push its exciting new Super Bowl sequences through the process with tremendous speed," said Gerry Kaufhold, principal analyst with In-Stat--a provider of research and market forecasts of semiconductors and communications equipment and services.
The Microsoft SharePoint services were used to create an information "dashboard" for collaborating on projects and managing workflow. Digital Design built its production environment on the server system software and .NET framework-based technologies.
