March Madness: Grass Valley Provides Multi-Format HD Production
Grass Valley HD digital production equipment--including HD cameras, switchers, routers and modular products--will be used by two major mobile production companies to help CBS Sports broadcast the Division I hoop games. Both New Century Productions (NCP) and NEP Supershooters , will be on-site at various locations, with each HD telecast presented in CBS's preferred 1080i.

NCP, based in Allentown, Pa., will send its NCP-5 HD truck equipped with a Grass Valley Kalypso HD Video Production Center switcher to Tucson, Ariz., for the Western Conference finals. Meanwhile, NEP Supershooters of Pittsburgh sent its SS-24 and SS-28 HD production trucks to Cleveland, and to Worcester, Mass., for the regional championships this week. At the end of March, SS-28 will join SS-27 to cover the Final Four weekend. The company will also send its ST-10 SD truck for support, and its SS-12 to handle the international feed.
