LG's Pro:Idiom DRM Achieves HD Lodging Standard
LG Electronics said this week that with LodgeNet Entertainment, On Command, Philips Electronics and itself embracing the same digital rights management standard, its Pro:Idiom system is now established as an HD standard for the North American lodging industry via its dish distribution to hotels and tens of thousands of lodging rooms.

The Pro:Idiom DRM system is a technology platform that was designed to handle rapid and broad deployment of HD and other high-value content to the hotel industry. Currently, several high-end hotel chains like Hilton and Marriott have begun equipping their guest rooms in some markets with HD and ED flatscreens.

Zenith, the exclusive licensing agent for Pro:Idiom, has made the technology available on a royalty free basis to hotel PPV/VOD operators and to electronics manufacturers.
