KTVU Chooses SAN Solutions Archiving System
SAN Solutions has announced that Oakland, Calif.’s KTVU, a Cox Enterprises television station, is now using that company’s Media Archive Infrastructure in conjunction with the Flashnet content storage management system from Software Generation (SGL) for archiving the station’s media assets.

“Cox has been a leader in adopting forward-looking broadcast products and workflows, and the company's intensive examination of enabling technologies has assured selection of best-of-breed solutions for KTVU operations,” said Harry Aine, SAN Solutions president. “SGL is a leading provider of content archive and storage management software for media and entertainment, and we're pleased with the exceptional performance that our seamlessly integrated solutions bring to the news production workflow at KTVU.”

The archiving system and infrastructure were integrated initially with KTVU’s Harris automation system and Grass Valley K2 video server, and later was expanded to interface with the station’s Grass Valley Aurora tapeless high-definition production suite.

KTVU is the San Francisco Bay Area Fox affiliate.
