Jupiter Systems, a Hayward, Calif.-based developer of display wall processors, has acquired Teranex, a manufacturer of high-end video processing technology. Teranex, located in Orlando, Fla., will be a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jupiter Systems. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Launched in 1998 with IP from Lockheed Martin, Teranex has primarily targeted the broadcast and post industries with its SIMD array processing technology. The company was acquired in 2004 by Silicon Optix, which, in turn was bought in October 2008 by IDT, a Silicon Valley company specializing in mixed signal semiconductor solutions for digital media.
