Journal Broadcast Group Automates with Crispin
Media communications company Journal Broadcast Group has tapped Crispin for its automation software, gear and services to help centralize operations for NBC affiliate WGBA and UPN affiliate WACY, located in Green Bay, Wis. Journal purchased four Crispin-supplied workstations, each focused on a specific workflow task.

Crispin's on-air playback application, RadidPlayX, monitors and controls playlists for on-air channels, enabling operators to create and load playlists, edit events, issue playlist commands and monitor event status. RecordScheduler executes daily schedules of program acquisition events and can record parallel events. The Crispin Mapper converts daily traffic schedules into an automated playlist, ready for an on-air playback by RapidPlayX. Properly interfacing the traffic system is critical to successful automation, according to the Raleigh, N.C.-based company.
