JazzRadio Berlin Extends Reach
JazzRadio Berlin launched this week on Satellite JazzRadio reaching new listeners in Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.

The show is carried via the pan-European satellite Hotbird 5 transponder using MPEG Layer II technology.

The station also recently began Webcasting on http://www.jazzradio.net/

JazzRadio Berlin was awarded a seven-year FM license by the Berlin-Brandenburg Radio Authority in 1997. It has an audience of 196,000 listeners in Berlin.

Managing Director Julian Allitt said, "During three years in Europe's most competitive radio market, we have demonstrated that classic jazz is a viable commercial radio format."
