IonTunes, Sony Ink Digital Music Distribution Deal
The digital music distribution service owned by Topical Networks, IonTunes, has signed a deal with Sony Music Entertainment to become a retail affiliate partner for SME’s commercial digital downloads. There are more 1,300 songs available through SME’s commercial digital download system, in two audio formats.
"Sony Music Entertainment is a powerhouse in the industry and no online service like ours would be complete in the absence of a deal with them," said Matt Miszewski, CEO of Topical Networks.
In addition to the affiliate relationship with SME, Topical Networks has already signed deals with BMG Entertainment, Liquid Audio and hundreds of independent artists and smaller labels. The IonTunes system launched on Aug. 31.
