Intervideo Upgrades to meet growing HD demand
UK-based Intervideo has added to its service capacity with a Snell & Wilcox Alchemist Ph.C—HD motion-compensated standards converter. It is hoped the investment will attract new customers to the facility as well as expanding business within existing customer base.

Intervideo based its investment in the new Alchemist Ph.C—HD conversion platform following growing customer demand for the system by customers looking to use it in their SD and HD workflows.

"The release of the Alchemist Ph.C—HD was highly anticipated in the industry, so it was a natural decision for us to make the upgrade," said Gerry Wade, technical director at Intervideo. "The new Alchemist enables us to offer the ultimate standards conversion quality to our customers and has enabled us to benefit from the current explosion in demand for high-quality HD programming."
