Canada-based equipment manufacturer International Datacasting Corp. has made several executive changes.

It recently named Frederick L. Godard its new president and CEO. Godard replaces Ron Clifton, who remains on the board. Godard has had similar roles at router network company QuStream and before that at broadcast equipment manufacturer Leitch.

IDC also announced that Adam Adamou has been named board chairman. The venture capitalist is the president and managing partner of a specialty investment firm.

The company's board now consists of Adamou, Godard, Frank Ruffolo, Del Lippert and Clifton. Resigning from the board were Denis Colbourne, the former chairman, Stuart Smith and Kevin Rankin.

IDC makes content distribution hardware and software and operates digital multimedia distribution networks. Among its clients is NPR, for which it is providing hardware as part of the network's satellite system upgrade project.

Last summer it acquired product lines and technology from Comtech Tiernan Video in a $2 million deal. In the fall it added a purchase of assets from Logic Innovations for $600,000.

Its revenue fell 27% in the first nine months of 2009; it said in its most recent quarterly financial report that it remained concerned about the potential for reduced sales thanks to the global economic climate "but remains optimistic" about its prospects even as it restructures operations to include Tiernan product line and personnel.

Thanking the departing board members, Adamou cited the company's "tremendous product strength and market respect in its core segments, including broadband multimedia distribution" and said it plans to move into "an exciting new phase of its development. We would like to also thank our shareholders, employees and customers for their support during this transition. We are moving to optimize our operations in order to better serve your interests now and well into the future."
