Intelsat and SISLink Launch HD for SNG in U.S.
Two satellite operators combined resources to launch a service for HD satellite newsgathering. Intelsat, based in Pembroke, Bermuda, and U.K.-based SISLink, created a service dubbed “Intelsat uPod,” using the former’s space and ground infrastructure and SISLink’s Web-based scheduling and live transmission offering.

The new service is scheduled to launch in April, initially targeting customers leasing full-time satellite capacity for SNG. A version of the service targeting occasional-use customers is planned for launch later this year.
