IEEE Plans 58th Broadcast Symposium
The Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers’ Broadcast Technology Society (BTS) Broadcast Symposium date has been set this year for Oct. 15-17 in Alexandria, Va.

The annual Broadcast Symposium features presentations from top-ranked professionals in the fields of digital television and radio broadcasting, mobile TV, and satellite and terrestrial signal transmission. This year, a full afternoon is being devoted to television audio loudness issues.

Richard E. Wiley, partner at Wiley Rein, LLP and former FCC chairman, will address a Thursday luncheon as part of the event, and Peter M. Fannon, vice president of technology policy, government and regulation for the Panasonic Corp. of North America has been selected to speak at a Friday awards luncheon.

Registration for the symposium is now open at the IEEE Web site.
