Hollywood Tech Retreat Boasts Panels, HD Demos
The Hollywood Post Alliance is holding its annual Technology Retreat from Feb. 4-6 in Palm Springs, Calif. The conference will feature seven representatives of broadcasters-ABC, CBS, Fox, NBC, PBS, Sinclair and WB-on one panel to discuss topics such as, "New Digital Workflow," "The Future of the Home," "MPEG 21" and "Display Image Quality."

Other highlights include a demonstration from Futureware on measuring quality, and a tutorial on format conversion from Charles Poynton, author of Digital Video and HDTV Algorithms and Interfaces, that features a softball game shot by Fox in HDTV slow motion.
