High California Winds Blow KSCI(TV), KNX(AM)

CBS Radio property KNX(AM) in Los Angeles was hamstrung by strong winds in the Southern California area Wednesday.

While remaining on-air, the radio station was transmitting an unmodulated carrier, according to CGC Communicator.

Separately, the powerful Santa Ana winds also affected KSCI(TV), Los Angeles, when the antenna of the independent TV station was blown down. The TV station used a backup on Mt. Wilson, itself a victim of Mother Nature two years ago when a series of wildfires tormented broadcast facilities at that location.
