General Motors Chairman To Deliver CES2008 Keynote
The Consumer Electronics Association announced that Rick Wagoner, chairman and CEO of General Motors Corp., will deliver a keynote address at the
2008 International Consumer Electronics Show. CES, the world’s largest tradeshow for consumer technology, runs Jan. 7-10, 2008, in Las Vegas.
Wagoner’s address is slated for the second day of the show (Tuesday, Jan.8) at 4:30 p.m. and will mark General Motors’ first keynote address at the International CES.
In-vehicle technology continues to play a dominant role in the growth of the consumer technology industry, with total shipment revenues in the mobile video and navigation categories forecast to increase by 41 percent in 2007, reaching nearly $2.3 billion, said CEA.
Wagoner was elected GM chairman and CEO in 2003 after serving as president and CEO since June 2000. He joins Microsoft’s Bill Gates, Panasonic’s Toshihiro Sakamoto and Intel’s Paul Otellini as confirmed keynote speakers for the 2008 International CES.
